My undergraduate academic career began at Westminster college and California State University, Long Beach, with graduate studies at Los Angeles College of Chiropractic and Southern California University of Health Sciences, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and a Doctor of Chiropractic.

As an established chiropractic physician, with over 28 years of experience serving my patients in Mukilteo and on Whidbey Island, my special interest is in family practice. Additionally, I have postgraduate studies with an emphasis in neurology, whiplash dynamics, sports injuries and clinical nutrition. I also hold certificates as a Chiropractic Insurance consultant and Independent Chiropractic Examiner.

I believe that “TRUST between the doctor and the patient” is the key to the healing process.

I have been a Whidbey Island resident since 1996 and I have practiced part time on the Island since 2000. My main practice in Mukilteo was recently sold to expand my practice on Whidbey Island to full time.

Dr. Jones resides in Langley with his wife and son. He enjoys golfing, skiing, traveling and beach combing with his family when not serving patients.

REDUCE HOLIDAY STRESS CHIROPRACTICALLY

Sometimes the most wonderful time of the year may not always have you feeling so wonderful. It is easy to get wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, and let stress take over.

When we encounter stressful situations whether it be from emotional, situational, or physical stress, our bodies will activate the sympathetic nervous system. This response is often called the stress response or “fight or flight” mode. With prolonged stimulus to stress, our bodies will then trigger a release of adrenaline. When adrenaline is released, specific bodily functions occur including pupil dilation, increased sweating, increased heart rate, muscle tension, and increased blood pressure. With extended exposure to stress, these effects can be long lasting, causing your body to work overtime.

Chiropractic care is designed to restore optimal function to the nervous system, which contains the brain, spinal cord and spinal nerves. Your spine is literally the backbone of your neurological system. Your brain controls every function of your body including such functions as sleeping, eating, and breathing, all with the help of the spine. Adjustments are vital during stressful times because they will help activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which will significantly calm the stress response, and restore your body to its natural balance. The adjustments will also help loosen the muscle tension that is so commonly associated with stress.

So, when you’re out and about finishing up last minute holiday shopping be sure to take a few minutes out of your day to visit my office to receive that stress reducing adjustment.

If you are looking for a chiropractor, I would be delighted to take care of you.

Wishing everyone a healthy and happy Holiday Season!

B Scott Jones, DC
