Together - Six Feet Apart

I want to address the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic that we find ourselves in today. It affects all of us - without regard for race, religion or political affiliation, Socio-Economic-Status, or the zip code in which we live.  Citizens in cities, towns, and suburbs, as well as many remote areas of our country and around the globe will be affected by this virus.

These are scary times, but we are resilient. We have been through tough challenges in our lives and in our history as a nation, and we are fighters.  As long as we all come together (six feet apart) to fight against this virus, I believe we will emerge from the other side, stronger and more united than we ever thought possible.

I must admit that in the midst of this epic viral crisis, I was hard-pressed to find the motivation to develop and publish this Edition.  The local, national, and world news, while paramount to our health and safety, is at the same time, depressing and discouraging.  I’ve found myself writing and rewriting this particular piece several times over the last few days due to the rapid changes in reporting from various news outlets and directives from our state and local governments.

Anxieties run high as we try to navigate the information and services available to us. We are responsible for the safety and welfare of not only ourselves, but for those around us 'collectively' -- our friends, neighbors, and loved ones, especially those in high risk categories.

We already know this...

So, in this particular Edition, I’d like to share a collection of virtual resources for learning (children and adults) and playing, as well as cultural sites: museums, concerts, National Parks tours and other virtual experiences for the mind/body/spirit as we hunker down at home.

This collection is limited, so I invite you to add your own virtual resources and community help information to this list. I hope you enjoy the vast array of online resources that are available to us to enjoy for free. Here are just of few…

Stay safe and well!
